Aleksandra Aroshvili is an independent researcher working primarily in the field of social policy.
During the last 7 years, she worked in such organizations as the Georgian Trade Unions Confederation, Tbilisi City Hall (on transport reform), and the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA). For the past 10 years, she has cooperated with various print and online publications as a guest author. In 2017-2018, she was the chief editor of an independent analytical media platform European.ge.
In 2017, she was involved in the critical analysis of the Georgian pension reform and the development of an alternative model as the author of the research “Evaluation of the Georgian Pension Reform”.
Over the years, she was the founder and activist of various social movements and public campaigns, including “Laboratory 1918” in 2011-2013, “Network of Self-Organization” in 2014-2016, “Constitution for Equality” in 2017, and the “Collective for Fair Energy Policy” in 2020.
She is the author of researches/reports on social policy, political economy, different types of inequalities, informal and atypical labor, women’s migration, extractivism, and ecology.
