Merab Kartvelishvili

Merab Kartvelishvili holds a Master’s degree in Law and Public Policy Administration.  Merab has worked in the field of human rights for over a decade.

For years, he cooperated with civil society organizations, including the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA), where he led the human rights protection program. 

He is the author and/or supervisor of about 40 researches and reports in the field of human rights. Among them is the first Georgian-language methodology manual for criminal trial monitoring. Merab was one of the initiators and the supervisor of this document. 

Merab was involved in several reforms, such as the 2020 Labor Code reform. In 2021, he participated in the mediation process of problematic issues related to the Namokhvani HPP organized by the EU Energy Union. 

Over the years, Merab was also involved in a litigation practice in criminal law.  He has cultivated a successful practice of representation in the Constitutional Court.
